The Opportunity

 The Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, development and maintenance of applications in the Hyperion Planning System [PBCS environment]. The Analyst works closely with the Global Finance team to deliver, maintain, troubleshoot and enhance Finance system functionalities. The candidate adds value to the Finance team leveraging their knowledge of Hyperion Planning and Reporting products. Through constructive teamwork the Analyst builds relationships throughout the organization’s Finance and IT teams by leveraging the system in supporting business unit needs. In addition, the Analyst will support the FP&A Team with the preparation, analysis and presentation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting to Executive management.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Works directly with Corporate and Business Unit Finance Teams to analyze business requirement needs and translates findings into Hyperion system requirement specifications
  • Provides support to users and acts as a subject matter expert for all PBCS/Hyperion-related enquiries
  • Develops and maintains Hyperion Financial Reports using the Reporting application as well as Smart View Reports
  • Identifies and resolves technical issues with Hyperion Planning application, including escalation of issues to Oracle Support
  • Ensures that the Hyperion Team at Corporate can act as a backup for the Corporate and Business Unit Finance Teams for loading data into Hyperion Financial Planning
  • Ensures alignment of data between Hyperion and other financial systems used within the organization
  • Develops and maintains rules sets, calculation scripts and financial reports
  • Assigns security for users and groups using Oracle Cloud My Services
  • Creates and maintains documentation for core system processes
  • Assists the FP&A Team with the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance analyses for senior management
  • Develops and maintains financial models and standard templates supporting the FP&A process
  • Supports the FP&A Team with the execution of control processes surrounding data management and integrity
  • Participates in ad hoc projects relevant to the Corporate Finance Team

Profile & Core Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or IT with a Finance and/or Accounting background
  • Motivated individual with 3 to 5 years of experience as a Hyperion administrator
  • Proficient in PBCS Workspace and SmartView
  • Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining BSO applications and knowledge of ASO applications
  • Required working knowledge:
    • Create dimensions and members using PBCS Workspace
    • Define security filters
    • Write, maintain and enhance calc-scripts using calculation manager to optimize Hyperion performance and Budgeting and Forecasting processes
    • Load data in form of text files in Hyperion using data management
    • Create and maintain Hyperion reports using Reporting Web Studio
    • Push data from application BSO to ASO using “Data Exchange” or EPM automate
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to step outside a technical role and understand business requirements and their relationships with financial systems
  • Positive attitude and high willingness to learn
  • Works well under pressure and performs under tight deadlines
  • Focused team player with multi-tasking abilities whom succeeds in fast-paced environments
  • Established communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in English and French, Spanish is considered an asset
