The Opportunity

The Carding Manager works closely with the Plant Manager in organizing and managing the day-to-day activities for carding plant operations, which includes but is not limited to; production operations, and facility maintenance.   This position is also responsible for optimizing plant operations to ensure all production and quality standards are met.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage Carding Department
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Responsible for hiring, training and retaining operators and technical staff in Opening, Carding, Drawing, and Roving
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding key performance indicators including quality, production, efficiency, waste, and cost.
  • Responsible for managing supply and repair budgets
  • Manage Carding maintenance employees in opening through roving process
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance procedures (Opening, Carding, Drawing, Roving)
  • Schedule opening and carding re-clothing on a cycle basis
  • Monitor lab data and maintain quality standards
  • Training technicians on best utilization practices for systems to maintain opening, carding and drawing
  • Work closely with Human Resources to help staff vacant positions and resolve issues in a timely manner

Profile & Core Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of previous experience in a Textile Facility.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years in a Management role
  • Candidate must possess a strong understanding of yarn spinning processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large number of employees in a textile facility
  • Experience in improving manufacturing processes and standardizing procedures
  • Position requires strong attention to accuracy and detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and exhibit exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Experience in Quality preferred
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
