The Opportunity

The incumbent manages the day to day activities of the quality control lab. Maintains and keep up to date quality control protocol of customers and brands and ensure that those protocols are performed accordingly in the lab. Routinely interacts with other departments on quality issues, on resolving problems and on implementing improvements. Ensure delays for testing are respected and that the Quality Control lab employees produce work up to expected standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Understands basic Hosiery, Legwear and Shapewear quality criteria and applicable testing protocols.
  • Weekly prioritize testing workload to ensure all required testing will be performed and results will be communicated on time.
  • Organizes reports results and record pass/fail decision.
  • Develops and maintains Quality Audit processes and documents
  • Works effectively with Distribution Center manager to improve order flow and shipping service.
  • Identifies quality defects and communicates with his Director on performance of vendors
  • Communicates with Shanghai QA & Textile Manager on vendor performance
  • Manage quality control team
  • Statistically analyzes individual auditor performance and manages each as required.  Considers training, assignments, and addressing issues as needed.
  • Makes recommendations within the established boundaries on TOP audit results to concerned departments and elevate the discussion when required prior to communicate final recommendations
  • Create new color standards in Datacolor machine for Legwear, Intimates and Hosiery when required
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Profile & Core Competencies

  • University Degree or Engineer Title
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Audit
  • Experience in supervising staff is an asset
  • Knowledge of Hosiery and Legwear is an asset
  • Must know Textile testing protocols
  • Strong knowledge of the technical aspect of products
  • Understanding of quality principles and AQL statistical analysis required
  • Quality process and procedure writing experience required
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and compose with tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills
  • Proven sense of autonomy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc…)
  • Bilingual: English & French (written & spoken)
