The Opportunity
Manages all functions within the Human Resources Department for our Yarn Spinning facility in Salisbury to include employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, retention, safety, and labor law compliance. Facilitates the development of plant policies, training and communications.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Manages the consistent administration of human resources policies and practices.
Responsible for recruitment in a start-up environment which will include interviewing, selection, and onboarding of employees (exempt and non-exempt). Works with plant leadership in hiring and selection of Employees.
Manages the Safety and Workers Compensation programs.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with plant leadership and employees to coordinate personnel actions and address any employee issues (transfers, hiring, compensation increases, promotions and employee concerns).
Conducts thorough and objective investigations. Provides counseling to plant leadership in regards to employee development and disciplinary actions, such as performance, conduct, and attendance.
Ensures that the administration of compensation and benefits programs at the location are in line with corporate programs.
Oversees and develops training programs.
Ensures that employee records are accurate and complete.
Responsible for supporting company actions in regards to employment law. Supports Salisbury plants through understanding, application, and compliance of Federal and State labor law. Ensures Department of Labor (DOL), Wage and Hour, Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and all other government agency requirements are followed.
Supports goals and objectives of the HR Department on a corporate, regional, and local level
Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Profile & Core Competencies
University degree preferred
3-5 years experience as an HR Manager in a manufacturing environment
HRIS, time and attendance and payroll system experience required; Peoplesoft and ADP experience preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Team Player
Results oriented
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Policy administration and safety experience required.
Yarn or fiber manufacturing experience preferred.
Spanish language skills preferred
