The Opportunity

Manage the fiber and waste inventory and consumption for all Gildan Yarn Spinning facilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Schedule raw fiber for all Gildan spinning plants to maintain coverage that will span for 6-8 weeks
  • Coordinate with ALL cotton, polyester and other fiber suppliers for scheduling/deliveries
  • Communicate and coordinate with Gildan facilities the confirmed merchant schedules
  • Responsible for MILLNet program as it pertains to fiber deliveries, consumptions and inventories
  • Backup of monthly USDA reporting for all Gildan spinning plants, including the cotton and man-made fiber usage
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports of the following
    • Contract Status
    • Beginning/Ending Inventories
    • Consumption
  • Receives, Analyzes and monitors EDI data from the Cotton suppliers to insure cotton properties meet the Gildan contract specifications
  • Maintains spreadsheet of projected versus actual EDI properties
  • Maintains spreadsheet to track Gildan Spinning consumption by plant
  • Prepares fiber laydowns daily to all spinning plants; keeping fiber properties within expected Gildan specifications
    • Fiber properties must be monitored closely daily, weekly and over a 6-week period to maintain properties with specifications
  • Manage and Monitor fiber waste data for all spinning plants
    • Maintaining databases on weekly basis
    • Generates graphical reports
    • Track waste produced versus reclaim consumed
  • Manage dashboard reporting for all online monitoring systems, i.e., Eureka, Spiderweb, and VOS.

Profile & Core Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office; especially Word and Excel
  • Experience with JDE and MILLNet
  • 5+ years working in the textile spinning industry
  • Knowledge of cotton and other raw fiber properties and end usage
