The Opportunity

The Manager, Internal Audit will work closely with a dynamic team and assist the Director, Internal Audit in completing the audit plan as well as other special mandates. This role will provide you with exposure to the Company’s diverse operations in the Manufacturing sector as well as interactions with senior members of the management team. Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Lead strategic and/or rotational audits that are financial and/or operational in nature
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls in a variety of business areas
  • Identify risks and internal control gaps and develop solutions to strengthen controls, improve profitability and aid management decision-making capability
  • Perform special reviews/investigations
  • Liaise with business units and assist in the development and implementation of best practices
  • Enhance our internal audit practices, including continuous audit program
  • Manage the internal audit planning process
  • Supports the Director, Internal Audit in Audit Committee preparation
  • Some travel will be required

Profile & Core Competencies

 

  • Excellent English communications skills
  • Spanish considered as very strong asset, for communication with colleagues in Central America and government authorities
  • French is considered a definite asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Professional designation (i.e. CPA, CIA) is desirable
  • 2+ years of experience in an internal or external audit Manager role
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in an internal or external audit role demonstrating work experience with business process analysis and internal controls
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry and/or IT Audit is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated experience in performing multiple projects
  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills related to manufacturing operations
