The Opportunity

The JDE Programmer Analyst will combine Incident management and development tasks. His primary focus in starting his position is to analyze, resolve or dispatch incidents from levels 2 to 3 assigned to the development team. He or she maintains information about Known Errors with their Workarounds and suggests minor enhancements or bug fixes to prevent incidents from happening. As the Development skills improve with internal trainings, Minor Enhancements or Bug Fixes will be added to the list of responsibilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Analyse new incidents assigned to the development team and dispatch, if necessary, to insure a resolution.
  • Coordinate actions and communications to facilitate incident resolutions.
  • Follow-up Incidents assigned to the development team.
  • Ensure that incidents are documented:  root causes, resolutions, and workarounds.
  • Identify recurring failure trends and suggest actions of resolutions.
  • Deploy from test to production ERP Soft Coding requests.
  • Create/Maintain security ERP user roles.
  • Perform auditing tasks assigned to the development team.
  • Develop quality software code with a strong ability of testing.
  • Define and document technical specifications to implement projects, standalone software modification requests and reports.
  • Follow Gildan software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology and standards for the programming and documentation.
  • On-call system support on a rotation basis after office hours and weekends

Profile & Core Competencies

  • University degree in computer science, College diploma, technical certification or equivalent relevant academic qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience as a Programmer or as a Technical Support with a development background
  • Knowledge of an ERP is important (JD Edwards E1 or World is an asset)
  • Experience of working in a complex environment
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills using a systematic approach
  • Capacity to understand and evaluate priorities and urgencies
  • Good interpersonal skills and a desire to collaborate and share with others in a matrixed team environment
  • Meticulous and thorough in completion of tasks
  • Ability to create clear and concise technical documents
  • Ability and desire to understand the system architecture, and business processes. Willing to learn new technologies
  • Written and oral skills in English and French (Spanish an asset)
